Livett's Chosen Charity
Chris Livett has a reputation for excellence on the Thames. This is in no small way as a result of his charitable work and his determined efforts to promote the positive use of the river at every opportunity. Chris provides support to a range of trusts and charities on an ongoing basis. For 2009 he publically linked Livett’s Launches with The Ellen MacArthur Trust, helping children recovering from serious illnesses through sailing.
"I have worked with Ellen for a number of years and had a heavy involvement in the organisation of the London leg of the Trust’s 2009 Round Britain Voyage. I decided to raise awareness and support the trust through 2009,” commented Chris.

For 2010 Chris has chosen to help a more local organisation with a similar maritime theme that is also helping children, The London Nautical School.
The London Nautical School was founded in 1915, as a consequence of the official report into the loss of the “Titanic”. In 1990, it became one of the country’s first 11-18 comprehensive secondary schools for boys to be awarded grant maintained status.
“In September 1999, we became a Foundation School within the London Borough of Lambeth. The school is situated in Stamford Street on the south bank of the River Thames, in between Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Bridge. We are delighted that Mr. Livett has pledged his support for 2010," commented Mr. Dastagir, Headmaster
The London Nautical School is a smaller than average school situated in the heart of London. The school has a unique nautical ethos, is very popular and is heavily oversubscribed with four applications for every available place. It serves a very wide catchment area which stretches throughout London. The school has specialist sports status and has gained a number of prestigious accolades including Healthy Schools Standard and the British Council Gold Award for International Work. Livett’s are hoping to arrange for a fund raising River Thames Cruise with the school’s PTA aboard one of Mr. Livett’s River Thames Party Boats. There are also plans to take a selection of the children out on the river for an educational River Thames cruise.
Chris is asking Livett's Launches customers and friends to join him in supporting The London Nautical School and donate to the PTA. Livett’s customers can add a small percentage of their invoice or are welcome to send in a separate donation.
"I am asking my customers to donate by adding a small amount to their invoices for the school. Donation will help the PTA, the schools fund raising arm, meet with their targets and ultimately result in new facilities to improve the learning environment for the children." commented Chris
