Livett’s Launches have worked with the production team of the popular BBC spy drama ‘Spooks’ for many years. On this occasion they wanted to create the effect of a missile being fired down the river in an attempt to destroy the Houses of Parliament at Westminster.
Livett’s provided two boats and marine logistics for the filming on the River Thames. The versatile tugboat ‘Alfie’ was used to tow the missile at high speed, whilst the Lima Lima 1 gave chase with the BBC cameramen shooting onboard.
Chris Livett acted as Marine Coordinator on this complex shoot ensuring the shots were achieved in the safest and most cost effective way. Although Chris has coordinated the filming of many of the most extreme stunt sequences on the Thames in London this was a first, and particularly tricky to capture!
As well as the more technical marine coordination and filming consultancy work Livett’s have also provided a range of other marine filming services including; action boats, camera boats, filming pontoons, craft for dressing and support vessels.
