Shine Communications employed the services of Livett’s Launches to float a giant 16ft Lego Pharaoh up the Thames to LEGOLAND Windsor. The stunt produced some striking photos as the Pharaoh passed some of London’s most famous land marks on the top deck of the Motor Vessel Edwardian!
The Pharaoh’s journey was the final leg of 1,395 mile trip from the Czech Republic to LEGOLAND Windsor. The Pharaoh will be the centrepiece for a brand new attraction, Kingdom of the Pharaohs, which opens to the public for the first time on 21 March 2009.
The Lego Pharaoh follows in the footsteps of Anubis the Egyptian God of the Dead who famously floated down the River Thames in 2007 to mark the opening of the Tutankhamen exhibition in London.
Pharaoh Facts:
* He was made from 200,000 individual pieces of LEGO
* He weighs one tonne
* The Pharoah is one of the biggest LEGO models ever created
* It took a team of model makers five months to complete
